Music music!

Talking Heads & The Doors

The Doors (live at the Matrix March 1967) and Talking Heads The Collection 1984-1988.
Both for €4.95 at HEMA. (And yes, my desk is always a mess like that.)

And winegums.

Rum.

I wish it wàs rum. Why put it on a winegum?

From the NME keep-an-ear-on-this-list for 2010. I thought I’d share this with you. On the mixtape there is a remix that is slightly better, but I like this one just the same.

What counts as a general rule …

… has ever its exceptions:

For baby-faced men like Law it is allowed.

Yummie. I love their rawness.

From: Niklos Koda - Doomed Waltz

I did it! I dyed my hair reddish (and got myself a fringe/bangs/whatever you like to call it). Woohoow!

When I was a little kid,  my aunt gave me birthday cards drawn by Cicely Mary Barker. On them were the most beautiful fairies I’d ever seen. According to Barker, every flower, fruit or plant has its own fairy, like a mascotte. They all have human bodies, but also posses a pair of wings, size and looks depending on the flower.

I still love them! I love how these drawings breathe the idea of rest and happiness, and make you think that in the park or in your garden, you may have encountered one of these queer beings without noticing…

Behold … my selfmade bowie-shirt. (Obviously, the shirt itself isnt selfmade, but the design is.)

(Looks like I have a double chin – I haven’t!)

A year ago I suddenly felt the need to have a bowie-shirt, but I couldn’t find one anywhere (actually it was just sold out at H&M and I was too lazy to search it somewhere else). So I bought a plain white shirt and drew the Bowie-head on it and sew sequins on it.

I used a stencil I found somewhere on the internet, black textile marker and pink sequins :) .

What do you think of Lady GaGa? I thought her to be a moron, with no personality and using her body (instead of her voice) to sell records. But after having browsed youtube for a while, in quest for some video that’d make me and my friends laugh about her idiocy, I couldn’t find one. She’s a sincere and ambitious person, who likes showbizz and dressing up. And yes, she uses her body, but which pop-star doesn’t? She just doesn’t hide it.
And thén, I came across this:

I’m completely sold now. She càn sing, and she dresses up in the most crazy outfits without any shame.

Since I’m a follower of many fashionblogs, and get so many inspiration fromthem (more than from shop windows or even magazines), I decided to take greater care (again) of what I’m wearing. Last months have been very dull for me, fashionwise and therefore also none-fashionwise (or is it actually the other way round? =D). But since the darkness is on its way to retire this time of year, inspiration comes back.
So, since sales are held now, I made an effort to improve my closet (and discovered that not much improvement is needed in my closet, my inspiration is/was just lacking).

By doing that I rediscovered my love for tights.
Coloured, patterned, … Of course, to wear tights, one needs a skirt (or shorts). It’s a bad thing I do not own many skirts …

By this I made a late New Year’s resolution: not to wear “boring” clothes, except when being ill or when studying …

DG a/w 2009-2010

How awesome is this? It was all over the fashion magazines last summer/autumn, and everytime I saw them I let out a little scream. (Not really, because if I did everyone would think me even more crazy than I already am; but I had quite a struggle to keep the scream within me.) After having seen so many victorian era/corset-dresses in German musea last summer, this was a very good modern interpretation and got me over my anti D&G-mentality (because of all those semi-cool kids who wear the jeans with the logo-belts … you know what I mean.).
